Tips to Care for your Uniforms

According to statistics only 6% of people don’t read care tag before washing their clothing. Most of us, spend lots of hard-earned money to purchase our uniforms and want to keep them in best shape. Here are some tips of important things to do to make sure your uniforms are well taken care of.

Read Care Instructions Carefully!

Although this can sometimes be an inconvenience in most people’s busy work schedules; washing your uniforms according to the care tag instructions are integral to prolonging the life of your garments. Many materials will surprisingly shrink and pimple faster if not washed according to the guidelines on the care tag or will for sure wear out faster. Although most uniform manufacturing companies make it a priority to make sure that the caring for the garment is as easy as possible, you will find those few brands which need extra care. So be sure to adhere to your care tags.

Don’t Hang Uniforms in the Sun

Sunlight or extreme temperatures are a big no no. Don’t hang your uniforms to dry near a window with direct sunlight since it can fade the color really easily. Extreme temperatures can stretch out or ruin the shape and material in your uniforms as well.

Wash Uniform Inside Out

Another helpful tip is washing your garments inside out. Less friction is less damage. Turning cloths inside out helps protect your uniforms or any other clothing from picking up fibers or harsh detergents on the “right” side of the garment. It also prevents trimming or zippers banging and getting ruined. It also helps slow the color fading therefore keeping your uniforms, which are washed often, looking great for much longer!

Skip the Dryer

If possible, skip the dryer. The agitation of the tumbling in your dryer causes your clothing to be more worn. If you look in lint compartment of your dryer you will see lots of lint/ pieces of fabric that come off your uniforms while it’s drying. Therefore, dryers will definitely cause your garments to go faster. In the event you need to use your dryer, try to do it on lowest heat cycle and for the shortest period of time.

So, if you came all the way here that shows you care about your cloths! We hope these tips help you protect your uniforms and save you lots of money!
